PSCAD v5.0.0 Master Library Updates

A download for the newest PSCAD v5.0.0 Master Library (v5.0.0.5) may be downloaded from the link at the bottom of this page.

1. Changes to the Master Library

Master Library 5.0.0.5:

  • When using i-lambda data entry in the saturable reactor component, with the number of points set to 4, the 4th point for flux linkage is now properly visible (#9080).

  • Entering a zero as the initial operating head in the hydro turbine (hy_tur) master library component, produces NaN runtime error. Entering zero will warn the user now. (#9092).

  • Snubber circuit graphics on the peswitch component now disappear as expected when the snubber circuit is disabled (#8951).

  • The visual appearance of the sample and hold component is now correct when two inputs are selected (#9161).

  • The surge generator component is now compatible for use in PSCAD v4.6.

  • Fixed an undefined parameter used in script error in the pipe-type cable component (#9220).

  • Wound rotor induction machine: Leakage saturation data entry is now enabled if leakage saturation is selected on both stator and rotor. Number of data points in the leakage saturation is now used in the script section (#9258).

  • The DC4B exciter component now properly creates the port associated with the VS input, when the stabilizer input is enabled (#9290).

  • Fixed a spelling error in the coupled_3lines component script code (#9282).

  • Current_scalar now emits an error message if -1 is given as the scaling value (#9240).

  • The fault component now properly turns red when a fault is activated (#9383).

  • The duality transformer component no longer creates bad code when BH data with dimensions is chosen as saturation method (#9414).

  • The coaxial cable component no longer gives an error concerning the 1st semiconducting or insulating layer, when there is only a bare conductor present (#6380).

  • Cable_interface configured can now be configured to give a default value when non-electrical signal receiving is enabled.

  • Parameter naming bug was resolved in pipe type cable.

  • Visual appearance issues in two input comparator and fault components resolved.

  • A scripting bug is resolved in coupled 3 lines component.

  • Parameter spelling mistakes corrected in maximum power point tracker and synchronous machine components.

  • Default magnitude in current sources updated.

  • Universal line tower parameter descriptions updated.

  • Multimass2, torque share corresponding to generator mass is now disabled.

  • UMEC transformer issues when copper losses are used is resolved.

Master Library 5.0.0.4:

  • Manual Data Entry Component in transmission lines: Error that appeared in a single conductor when the disabled parameter for entering zero sequence set to non-zero value was corrected.

  • Y connected load: Issue with representing shorted neutral path was corrected.

Master Library 5.0.0.3:

  • Cable_interface: Signal transfer limit was set at 32 inadvertently. The limit was increased to the same limit that the transmission line interface supports.

  • Storage allocation specified in #STORAGE directive was less than the actual consumed: Corrected components are Duality based 3 phase 2 winding transformer, Type ST exciter, Fixed Load, Single Phase L-L fixed load, Minimum Gamma in one cycle, Photovoltaic source, Synchronous machine and Nth order transfer function.

  • Two input selector: issue with complex data paths was resolved.

  • Synchronous Machine: When Q axis saturation was selected, saturation data entry was disabled.

  • Individually configurable Delta/Y connected 3 branch load: Syntax error in the script was corrected.

Replacing the Master Library

  • Close all instances of PSCAD v5.

  • Download the file from the link below.

  • Unzip the file.

  • Delete or rename your current Master Library file (master.pslx). This file should be located in a path similar to the following:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\PSCAD50\

  •  Save the unzipped file to the above directory.

  •  When PSCAD v5 is launched next, the updated Master Library will be loaded for use.
