Installing or Updating MyUpdater

This article provides instructions for installing and updating the MyUpdater tool (also known as the Update Client), which is used to install products as specified in this article. Also, a link to an article for troubleshooting MyUpdater issues is provided.

Install MyUpdater as follows:

  • If an older version of the MyUpdater is already installed on your machine:

    -If the icon is pinned to your taskbar, then unpin it:

    -If the links are present on your Windows desktop, delete these links:

                    MyUpdater - Icons on Win Desktop.jpg (17 KB)

    -Launch Windows Programs and Features, and uninstall MyUpdater from the list of installed products.

  • If you do not already have a MyCentre user account, register one in this site.
    For registration tips, please refer to Step 2.1 of the user manual posted to this article.

  • Download the MyUpdater installer from one of the following two locations:

    -From this link: https://ptcstoragegroup.blob.core.windows.net/mycentredownloads/MyUpdater_Installer.zip

    -From the "Downloads" tab in your MyCentre user account (called "Update Client")

  • Extract the files and save them to a local drive.

  • Right-click on the extracted “Installer.exe” file, and select “Run as administrator”.
    When prompted by the Windows User Account Control whether to allow this program to run, select Yes.

  • MyUpdater will be installed, and may be launched from the new Desktop shortcuts:

    The "MyUpdater (elevated)" should be used whenever installing, uninstalling, or updating products.

  • Log in to MyUpdater using your MyCentre login credentials.
    Your authorized products should be listed within, and available for installation and launching.

Note - If any prerequisite software is missing, you will receive notification during the installation, and can download and install the missing software using MyUpdater, from the "Prerequisites" tab:
