Network Splitting using Parallel Network Interface (PNI)

Network splitting allows you to seperate your project across multiple CPU cores for faster simulations. This is a type of Task parallelism.

In the PSCAD 4.6 examples folder there is also an ENI folder with CigreBenchmark project that has been split. Just load the workspace “ENI_simple_examples.pswx”.

A standard PSCAD license allows a project to be split across eight CPU cores. Additional splitting may be purchased by contacting our Sales Desk (sales@pscad.com).

Note: PNI was formerly known as Electric Network Interface (ENI).

For further general information on PNI, please refer to the Modeling Very Large Power Systems brochure.

For information on PNI features in PSCAD V5, please refer to this article containing a webinar and examples.
