Dharshana Muthumuni (Managing Director, Power Systems Technology Centre) was recently invited to serve as Chief Guest at the University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka—his alma mater and one of the country’s most prestigious academic institutions.

The invitation recognizes his longstanding contribution to the university community and his enduring legacy as a student leader and athlete.

During his time at the University, Dharshana distinguished himself as a Triple Colors recipient, earning University Colours in cricket, table tennis, and tennis. He captained the University cricket team to victory in the National Inter-University Championship and served as President of the Students’ Sports Council in 1993. In this leadership role, he played an important part in enhancing sports facilities and promoting athletic development across campus.

More than three decades later, he is still remembered for his commitment to fostering student engagement in sport and for encouraging a balanced approach to academic and athletic excellence.

His invitation as Chief Guest stands as a meaningful recognition of his lasting impact, leadership, and continued connection to the University of Moratuwa community.
