Two types of licensing are available with PSCAD: Certificate Licensing and Lock-Based Licensing.
With lock-based licensing, the license is hosted by the customer, either directly on the PSCAD machine, or on a server and shared with client machines over the network. With certificate licensing, the license is hosted by MHI servers and shared with client machines over the internet.
Two installers are available to install PSCAD and associated products: MyUpdater and the Installer Utility. The installers are specified according to PSCAD edition, and available to authorised users as downloads in MyCentre.
Component licensing is available to component designers, to license the use of their custom components. Component licensing is provided to authorised users as a feature within certificate licensing.
