This component represents a 12-pulse Thyristor Switched Capacitor (TSC) / Thyristor Controlled Reactor (TCR) Static VAR Compensator (SVC) system.
The model includes its own transformer, which consists of a star connected primary winding and dual secondary windings (one star and a one delta connected). The user may select the limits of absorption (inductive) and production (capacitive) of the SVC, as well as, the number of TSC stages. The MVA rating of each equal stage is determined by dividing the production limit by the number of stages.
The Static VAR Compensator possesses the following external inputs and outputs:
CSW: Capacitor switch signal: 1 to add a capacitor and -1 to remove a capacitor.
AO: Alpha Order. Available only if Firing Pulses From: | Internal PLO is selected .
KB: Block/Deblock signal, 0 will block the signals to the TCR and 1 will deblock.
FPD: Six element array of firing pulses for TCR in Delta. Available only if Firing Pulses From: | External is selected.
FPS: Six element array of firing pulses for TCR in Star. Available only if Firing Pulses From: | External is selected.
NCT: Output number of capacitor stages switched on in TSC.
ICP: Latches to Capacitor Switch Signal CSW, resets to 0 after switching in all phases is complete.
