Variable Real/Integer Input Slider

The Variable Real/Integer Input Slider is part of a family of specialized, user-interface controls, where the user can manually adjust the output during a simulation run. This family of components also includes the Rotary Switch (Dial), the Two State Switch and the Push Button.

This component outputs a manually adjustable REAL or INTEGER type value between a specified maximum and minimum limit. In order to control this component interactively, the user must link it to a Control Panel user-interface. The corresponding control panel interface is shown below.

Input Parameters

Title	Text		A short description (normally one word) about what the slider is controlling. This text will also be used for display in the corresponding Control Panel interface

Group	Text		Enter the name of the Runtime Object Group, to which this component is to belong (default is blank).

Display Title on Icon?	Choice		Select Yes or No to display the Title directly on the component graphic. This has no effect on the display in the corresponding Control Panel interface

Maximum Value	REAL	Literal	The maximum limit for the input slider

Minimum Value	REAL	Literal	The minimum limit for the input slider

Initial Value	REAL	Literal	The initial state of the slider (must be specified as a number between the Minimum Value and Maximum Value. This value will be used by default if there is no corresponding Control Panel interface

Units	Text		Enter the unit for display on plots, controls and meters. This input parameter does not scale the output value

Data Collection (Thumb Control)	Choice		Select Continuous or On Release. If continuous is selected, the output will dynamically vary according to the position of the slider. If on release is selected, the output will not update until the slider control is released
