Frequency Dependent (Mode) Model

Description

The Frequency Dependent (Mode) model is basically a distributed RLC traveling wave model, which incorporates the frequency dependence of all parameters.  Of the two frequency dependent models available, the Frequency Dependent (Phase) Model is the most accurate as it represents the frequency dependence of internal transformation matrices, whereas this model assumes a constant transformation.

For systems of ideally transposed conductors, or 2 conductor horizontal configurations, the 2 Frequency Dependent models will give identical results (as the transformation is constant anyway).  Whenever possible, the Frequency Dependent (Phase) Model should be used in place of this model.
