Impedance Data Entry

The Voltage Source Model 2 allows impedance entry for positive sequence (i.e. main phase) impedance only, with allowance for modeling an infinite bus (i.e. ideal source).  The following describe some of the data entry options.

Branch Impedance Type

The positive sequence source impedance may be chosen as one of the 4 following types:

  1. Resistive: Purely resistive

  2. R-R//L:  Parallel RL in series with a resistance

  3. R-L-C: Series RLC

  4. Inductive: Purely inductive

  5. Capacitive: Purely capacitive

  6. Ideal (R=0): Ideal source

Data Format

Impedance quantities may be entered directly as lumped R, L and C values in this model.  If your impedance data is in polar format, you may want to consider using the Voltage Source Model 1 or Three-Phase Voltage Source Model 3 models.
