
This component represents a standard IEEE-type Over Excitation Limiter (OEL) model. All input parameters are specified either in seconds (for time constants) or in per-unit/per-unit per second (for all other inputs). The external inputs and outputs are detailed below:
Inputs:
The limited quantity, input to the OEL model is user-selectable and may consist of one of the following: Generator field current (IF), generator field voltage (EF), or a signal proportional to the exciter field current (VFE) - which is typically used in applications with brush-less excitation systems. The reactive power input is supported exclusively by the OEL4C type.
EF: Generator field voltage.
VFE: Signal proportional to the exciter field current.
IF: Generator field current.
Q: Generator reactive power.
Outputs:
VOEL: This output represents the calculated Over Excitation Limiter (OEL) signal, which is typically used in conjunction with an exciter model.
