Care should be taken in choosing snubber circuit R and C values, so as to reflect the effective snubber characteristics of the device being used. This includes consideration of both series and parallel connection of the devices.
The RC time constant of the snubber circuit should be reflected in the time step applied. There may be no value in including a snubber circuit if its RC time constant is less than that of the simulation time step.
NOTE: If devices are connected in parallel (i.e. anti-parallel connection), only one snubber circuit across each pair may be required.
