Launching the PSOUT Reader Utility
The PSOUT Reader is a utility for viewing EMTDC binary-based output (*.psout) format files, and for converting them to the older, text-based (*.inf/*.out) file format.
The *.psout file format is a more modern alternative to the legacy, text-based (*.inf/*.out) file format that has been used by EMTDC since the 1990s. Being binary-based, it is significantly more compact than its predecessors, it is created faster, and is easier to browse. For users dependent on the legacy file format, the PSOUT Reader offers export conversion from the newer binary format to the older text-based format. The utility includes a graphical user interface, as well as a command line interface. More information on EMTDC output file formats, see EMTDC Output.
To launch the PSOUT Reader Utility, click the Tools tab on the ribbon control bar and press the PSOUT Reader button.
