When it comes to selecting objects (components, graphs, etc.) on the various canvases (Schematic, Graphic, T-Line/Cable Editor), there are several convenient selection features available to you. In this topic, each of these is discussed in detail.
All selection features available can be accessed via the Select drop list in the ribbon control bar, on either the Home tab when viewing the schematic canvas, or the Shapes tab when on the graphic canvas:
Select an individual object on any canvas with a simple left-click.

Press and hold the Ctrl key and then separately select (left-click) all objects to be grouped into one selection. Note that you may also use box selection in combination with separate select, provided that the Ctrl key remains depressed.
To deselect individual objects, hold the Ctrl key and then select (left-click) all objects to be deselected. To deselect all objects, left-click on a blank area of the canvas background.
Press and hold the left mouse button and then drag the mouse pointer so that a box outline appears (box select). Encompass all desired objects to be selected and then release the left mouse button.

To deselect individual objects, hold the Ctrl key and then select (left-click) all objects to be deselected. To deselect all objects, left-click on a blank area of the canvas background.
Go to the Select drop list in the ribbon control bar, and select Freehand Selector. Press and hold the left mouse button and then drag the mouse pointer around the perimeter of the objects you want to select. Release the left mouse button to select.

To deselect individual objects, hold the Ctrl key and then select (left-click) all objects to be deselected. To deselect all objects, left-click on a blank area of the canvas background.
Go to the Select drop list in the ribbon control bar, and select Polygon Selector. Left click the mouse while encompassing the object you want to select. Each time you click, a straight line is drawn. Click over top the first point made, to select.
