External Electrical Node (XNode)

Description

This component is used to make an external electrical connection to an electrical system, from within a page module.

The Signal Name specified by this component must match with an electrical port connection, defined in the definition for the particular module.  Unlike the standard Node Label component, the XNode does not create a local name for the node.  Hence an XNode and an ordinary node label can co-exist on an electrical wire without causing a name conflict.

XNodes may be shorted together (i.e., without a defined branch between them). A preprocessing step is added to identify shorted XNodes, which are then mapped to the same node following global node mapping.
