Through MHI, PSCAD has been fortunate enough to work in international communities – vibrant and diverse as the people who live in them.
Every year, as part of our corporate social responsibly initiative, we choose to donate funds to local charities. Our employees are encouraged to nominate projects for consideration and are active participants in the planning, fundraising, and implementation of each initiative.
In recent years, MHI has supported community groups in Uganda, Guyana, Nepal, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
As we all know, 2020 has been a bit different. With most of us sticking a little closer to home, we decided to look at Manitoba-based community organizations; initiatives that are making a difference in the lives of people who have found themselves in a rough spot this year.
In November, MHI, PSCAD, and its employees rallied to donate to the Siloam Mission, a humanitarian organization that provides opportunities for change for those affected by poverty and homelessness, here in Winnipeg. With dropping winter temperatures and rising Covid-19 cases, Siloam Mission is facing unprecedented challenges that affect the health and wellbeing of vulnerable men and women.
Our donation will provide 60 safe transitional beds for people in need, helping them along the road toward a stable living situation.
As a Manitoba-based company, we are proud to be able to make a small difference in our community this winter.
