Certificate Licensing Error - Cryptographic Error

After getting or saving a license certificate for running MHI products, including PSCAD and non-PSCAD software, if a "cryptographic" error is displayed, the user is missing some permissions. To resolve this, the Fortran Medic Utility can be used to obtain user permissions.

Please refer to this article for instructions on enabling TLS protocol as follows:

  • For PSCAD v4.6.3 Update 4 / PSCAD v5.x.x - Enable TLS 1.2 as per Steps 1, 4, 6
  • For PSCAD v4.6.3 Update 3 and older - Enable TLS 1.0 as per Steps 1, 4, 5

If the issue persists, please feel free to contact the MHI support desk (support@mhi.ca) for assistance. Include the following in your request:

  • Your PscadLmgr.txt log file and your PscadCert.txt log file as per Step 3 of this article;

  • Your Fortran Medic log file (in the Fortran Medic utility that you used in the above steps, go Actions | Start, and when the the utility has finished its detection, go Actions | Save Messages as, and send in the log file);

  • Screenshots of licensing errors and messages.
